Operational Programmes

In the 2007-2013 programming period, 26 operational programmes are used in the Czech Republic. These programmes are divided into three objectives of the economic and social cohesion policy (ESC).

Operational Programmes Allocations

 

Convergence Objective

The objective is the support of economic and social development of less developed regions and member states. In the Czech Republic, this objective includes all the cohesion regions with the exception of Prague and is implemented through eight sectoral operational programmes and seven regional operational programmes.
A total of EUR 25.89 billion (approximately CZK 730 billion) is allocated to the Convergence Objective in the Czech Republic.

The eight sectoral operational programmes (EUR 21.23 billion, approximately CZK 598.62 billion) are:
OP Transport
OP Environment
OP Enterprise and Innovation
OP Research and Development for Innovation
OP Human Resources and Employment
OP Education for Competitiveness
Integrated Operational Programme
OP Technical Assistance

The seven regional operational programmes (ROP) at the level of NUTS 2 cohesion regions (EUR 4.66 billion, approximately CZK 131.38 billion) are:
ROP NUTS Northwest
ROP NUTS Moravia-Silesia
ROP NUTS Southeast
ROP NUTS Northeast
ROP NUTS Central Moravia
ROP NUTS Southwest
ROP NUTS Central Bohemia

Regional Competitiveness and Employment Objective

This objective is to give support to regions that do not fall under the Convergence Objective. In the Czech Republic, this means Prague with two operational programmes.

A total of EUR 0.42 billion (approximately CZK 11.73 billion) is allocated to the Regional Competitiveness and Employment Objective.

European Territorial Cooperation Objective

This objective is to give support to cross-border, interregional and supranational cooperation between regions. All regions of the Czech Republic fall under this objective and support can be drawn from nine operational programmes.

A total of EUR 0.39 billion (approximately CZK 10.89 billion) is allocated to the European Territorial Cooperation objective.

OP Cross-border Cooperation Czech Republic - Saxony

OP Interregional Cooperation (all EU member states, Norway and Switzerland)

OP Supra-national Cooperation (Czech Republic, Austria, Poland, a part of Germany, Hungary, Slovenia, Slovakia, a part of Italy and a part of Ukraine from the non-EU countries)

Network Operational Programme ESPON 2013 (all member states, Norway, Switzerland, Lichtenstein, Iceland, EU candidate countries)

Network Operational Programme INTERACT II (all member states)
