Area of Support 1.4

UNPOWERED TRANSPORT INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT

What kinds of projects are eligible for support?

  • The construction and reconstruction of bicycle tracks (road signs C8 and C10), routes jointly used by pedestrians and cyclists (road signs C9), routes for unpowered vehicles (road signs B11), namely reconstructed routes equipped with road signs where cars are not allowed, dealing with collision points (bicycle track intersections with other overland communications - e.g. signal light devices, etc.); supplementary equipment can be installed in newly built bicycle tracks (parking for cyclists, rest stops, signage);
  • Adaptation of roads for unpowered transport for people with impaired mobility or senses (barrier-free access, audible or other signals for the visually impaired).

Which subjects can be funded?
Regions, municipalities and unions of municipalities, organisations established by municipalities and regions.

Amount of available funds
EUR 18 million, which amounts to roughly CZK 508 million

Sample case
The combined administrative areas of a union of municipalities contain a vast network of bicycle tracks. However, some places with tourist potential are not a part of it. Municipalities that have some tourist sites but no bicycle tracks design a project to connect new tracks to the existing infrastructure. The project also includes supplementary infrastructure like road signs, parking for cyclists and rest stops.
